The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful, including helping us with luggage. The location is easy off/easy on for the expressway.
My husband and I had another wonderful stay at this Courtyard hotel, which is conveniently located off I-80 Exit 3 on Kennedy Avenue. We had a spacious suite with a large balcony, and we enjoyed some coffee drinks and dinner options from their Bistro. To the hotel manager: We kindly suggest considering an upgrade to the furniture in your suites. It was quite uncomfortable, and given the prices you charge for the suites, we believe the furniture should be more comfortable.
This Courtyard is severely lacking in staff. According to one employee, The Bistro is permanently closed. Additionally, the extensive two-page list of rules that guests must agree to before checking in, along with the noticeable police presence from Hammond, IN, suggests that this has turned into a party hotel.
I booked this hotel online during our drive from Denver to Boston. Received confirmation e-mail for reservation. Received a second e-mail saying our reservation was moved to the adjacent Fairfield Inn. This hotel is still closed. Checked in at the Fairfield first room had such a strong mold odor we requested a room change. Second room had a smoke smell. We checked out and went to the Hampton Inn across the street. Very disappointed with Marriott to lead us to believe we were staying at the Courtyard.
To make matters worse, a police officer was patrolling the parking lot and harassing everyone who entered. When we went outside to retrieve our luggage after checking in, he shone his flashlight in our eyes and questioned us, even jotting down our license plate number and running our plates for no apparent reason. Once we finally made it to our room, we were appalled to find the ceiling peeling, and the condition of the window in the bedroom was alarming; it looked like it might fall out into the parking lot at any moment. This was one of the worst-maintained Marriott properties I have ever stayed in, and I would not recommend it to anyone. By midnight on our first night, we decided to pack up and leave, braving a rainstorm to get home rather than endure another night there. As we exited, the same police officer followed us until we turned onto the highway. What a nightmare!
