I was in the hancock last weekend. it was great! the guest house is beautiful. built in 1789. it is the oldest guest house in nh and it has been preserved beautifully. the rooms were very nice and well maintained. it was a cold night, but our room was warm comfortable. we had breakfast the next morning. I had strawberry pancakes and my son had the eiersandwich with a whistle. the food was delicious! the owners (jarvis marcia) and the other staff (rhonda) were very friendly and welcoming. I am definitiw back. hopefully this summer.
Best restaurant and cocktails in the environment. unbelievable, while the covid to receive and hospitable to keep social distance. a true jewel, warm staff and eating reminds me of a city bistro, especially the addictive thin pommes.
Very nice place in the southern nh. a peaceful, quite romantic short holiday in the middle of what can really only be described as nowhere. the gas house is old fashioned in a variety of views, from the facility to customer service, eating and style. it makes the authenticity of a new england inns really good. I would recommend it to any ski trip or leaf peepers that have never been in new england
We had a nice meal on the porch of the Fox Tavern last night, celebrating our 39th anniversary. The menu choices were not outstanding, but all of the dishes were well-prepared, and both the food and the wine list were very reasonably priced. I had the dry-rubbed pork shoulder and the gingered mashed sweet potatoes, and shared a summer salad with my wife, and a pavlova for dessert. Nasty thing about the pandemic is that food sharing does not work so well, but everybody else said that they were enjoying their food. I WAS, however, able to grab some of the shredded celery root appetizer using a clean fork before my brother had eaten any, and it was delicious. Service was excellent, too
