The shared appetizers were delicious and disappeared quickly, and the main courses were also good, although I would have expected better for the price. On the downside, our drinks took a long time to arrive, and the acoustics made it difficult to have a conversation at times. However, the positive aspects of our experience outweighed the negatives, and we would recommend Pine to others, especially those who are looking for a fun and lively atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Dairy free available upon request.
Told the waitress I had a dairy allergy then halfway into my dish I realized it had cheese. Showed her the cheese after and she said “no that’s not cheese” (it was). Then never took responsibility or apologized. Comped our drinks and said if a manager was there she would have gotten them to comp my meal but said they’d take care of me when I came back. First of all am coming from out of town and probably won’t be back anyway. Second of all why would I every come back after they gave me the thing I’m allergic to and never took responsibility or acknowledged it. I got very sick afterwards.
Pine benefits from being the only fine dining experience in the area, but honestly, just drive a little further and go to Simon Pearce or the Woodstock Inn if you want a meal commensurate with what you are paying. I always get the sense that the chef at Pine is either a little clueless, doesn't care, or isn't training his/her people very well. The food is just not that great--some dishes are good, like the burger, but some are just not good at all, like the cauliflower, which is cut into all different sizes and hence cooks really unevenly. Overall the food is just kind of meh and really not worth the prices. Parking: they have valet parking
Short ribs were dry, salmon flavorless and the fries were greasy and cold. Service was excellent even though the waitress had 10 tables because of short staff. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Best culinary experience in North America. the server, the cook and the sous cook went over and beyond to handle the perfect vegan appetizers, deer and desserts. I can't recommend this place very much. a true jewel in the upper valley. one that we will see again. most non vegan restaurants will tolerate them to change best case scenario, these people welcome us and their passion for the culinary arts and hospitality is something to see.
