Canton Buffet Restaurant - Hanover

Good prices, best cook on this side of Canada. Small place with great tastes! Dine in or take out, everything is excellent

When we were in the mood for Chinese and when the Canton first opened in Hanover several years ago we went quite often. That soon fazed out to maybe once a year or once in two years. Several reason for that. Won Ton soup is good but it needs the garnishments, the green onion and the little orange things. At first I would ask politely for the green onion and she would reluctantly go to the kitchen and get me some. So I knew they had the green onion , they just didn't want to put it out. After a few times she just refused to get any. Secondly most of the food that was on the buffet table was not hot and was dried out. The only thing I enjoyed to eat was the fried rice with the bean sprouts and it had sort of a smoke flavor, that was good fried rice. For a buffet I have never seem it very busy at all unless the other Chinese restaurants are closed for holidays. Then they will have a few more people eating there. My wife and I will usually go to the next town west for their buffet and on the weekends they are always packed full. The Canton needs to take a serious look at what they are doing wrong for their buffet and make the needed changes. This is just my honest opinion and experience. I have been to a lot of different Chinese buffets in a lot of different towns, but have never been to one that didn't put out the garnishments for the soup. Their son was waiting tables and it was so annoying when he would bring the bill halfway into the meal.

We love the dinner for four, it includes jar do chicken wings! The Canton has the best rice and egg rolls too!!

Love this place for take out. It's quick, there is a great selection, and it's hot and fresh. The prices are right too, and the staff very friendly.

We like Canton as it is really good. We have tried eating in a few times but find that items are either on the cool side or dried out or not enough on the buffet so we order out. Take out you do get good portions and it is fresh. You get value for the money, great service too.
