We had the Beer Battered Haddock and Chips, we can not fault it. So fresh and tasty. I had lime and elderflower cheesecake while my husband had the apple and blueberry crumble for dessert, again so delicious. Highly recommend to anyone we meet.
We only visited the CROFTERS BAR this evening because we had read the reviews. Imagine our disappointment when we did not encounter unpleasant rude bar staff, I only came here for that experience. Instead we were greeted by helpful smiley staff, warm and welcoming. It was busy at 5.30pm, which really is a joy to see in a highland bar at this time of year, most of the ones that I frequent struggle to draw in many more than half a dozen at such an hour. I now understand why it was busy, the service was great, and the food was excellent. We were still in time to take advantage of the 5pm /6pm food happy hour, so we had a ridiculously large bowl of fresh mussels to share as a starter, followed by really nicely done fish n chips a pie of the day from the evening menu. Thoroughly recommend the whole experience, but be prepared for disappointment if like me you came in hopeful expectation of some traditional rude service.
The toast sandwich was overcooked and the bartender was unfriendly. We had made a reservation for lunch to enjoy the live music, but we ended up leaving feeling let down by the poor service.
The staff at this restaurant are extremely friendly and helpful. Our food arrived promptly and we were delighted with the delicious seafood dishes. The prices were fair and there was enjoyable music playing as well.
The best beef and red wine pie I've ever had. Such a great atmosphere in this pub. A real gem to find in such a small village. Service was quick and the dining area was very cosy and inviting.
