Medi plate is so far so good, normal, no surprise. Service is excellent, staff very sweet. One thing need to be mention is the dishes served with very slow speed......
The Mall at Hornsby is growing gradually into quite the foodie hub and the addition of Rustic Plate is certainly welcome. It's a deceptively big place with an indoor area as well as an al fresco area out the front which is still covered and sheltered. We chose a plate of dips and olives served with freshly baked pita bread. It was delicious.
Ok there's a bit of a wait for the food as there's only one guy toiling away in the kitchen, but once the food is at the table, it's super fresh and tasty. Generous proportions and very tasty chips. Friendly service too but it's not a place to grab a quick bite.
It's a relatively new place to have opened in Hornsby. We walked in for a Saturday breakfast without really knowing what to expect, and have had pleasant surprise on how well they did their coffee and food. I've had Italian saucy eggs with added chorizo, which was full of flavour, warm and hearty. It came without any bread, which I thought was a bit strange, as most other places served their baked eggs with bread. Price is on a pretty steep side for breakfast, especially when there are several other cafes in the area with half the prices on the menu. However their uniqueness of the dish makes up for it.
Award for best (paper) napkins goes to.... Drum roll... Rustic Plate. Also, their food was excellent and service was happy and efficient. Potato Beef Bravos was my favourite pick, but all was tasty. Coffee also quite good.
