The server was prompt with drinks, taking to order, refilling water cups, and the food came FAST and hot! If you're thinking you have a sweet tooth AND want a cup of Water Street coffee, you can order the Pecan Pancake off from the menu and you'll have your cup of coffee FREE. I had a veggie omelet which included hashbrowns inside as well as yummy crispy ones on the outside and toast. Cinnamon Raisin is my all time favorite and they have it! Yummmmmmy! This joint is primarily known for it's breakfast BUT does offer lunch nd dinner options as well. This was news to me when I went because from word of mouth from friends, I thought it was breakfast only! That means every one in your party (or yourself) can have a range of options in case they aren't feeling like breakfast for dinner.
Delicious! Also, good place to get Mackinaw Island fudge for $4.99! Free WiFi and very clean bathrooms, fresh-squeezed ! orange juice and even a salad bar. This place is great! We had breakfast and lunch at 9:30 in the morning:
Been to Michelle's thrice for breakfast and I haven't been really disappointed any of the times. I think as a breakfast place, they have a lot of good things going for them: It's spacious and clean. The proportions of meals are adequate to insanely large. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are overall attentive. In addition, either the chef or manager (I'm not sure which) has always come out to double check to see if everything is good in addition. I think they might have taken comments here to heart because their staff has been very active each time I go. They stick to a very standard/basic menu, and everything is decently good. I recommend Michelles if you want a good old-fashioned breakfast. I highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice (though I have my doubts that the 8oz glass is actually 8oz and might be only 6oz. The 16oz does seem like a full 16 though) I recommend against the sausage patties, and stick to the bacon. Though I once got a plate of slightly mildew-y smelling bacon but the chef/owner instantly came out and brought me a full plate of good smelling crisp bacon to make sure I was satisfied. Good customer service!
Good breakfast place for the kzoo area. They offer gluten free pancakes now (way to get with the times kzoo). Portions are somewhat small, but the price reflects that. We went on a Saturday around 10:30am, there was no wait and the good came out fast and hot. We all ordered breakfast-no one had any complaints. My mom and jason both ordered omelette a, they liked the flavor and portion. The hash browns were good, could have been a little crispier. I got the homemade corned beef hash and a gluten free pancake, both were a little dry but had good flavor. My niece got a choc chip pancake with whipped cream which of course she loved. We asked them to make it with olive oil as the gull rd Michelle's has it, this one does not. Ask them to use lite oil in general if you have sensitivities. Our waitress was pleasant and on top of it, we didn't have to ask for refills on anything...big plus for me! Bill was only 40 buckaroos for five people!!!!! Nice. I gave them a four for price, clean restaurant, good service and legit breakfast food.
Michelle's made us wait an hour and fifteen minutes for our very simple breakfast orders. They kept assuring us that our ticket was the next one up. Do not come to this place over the weekend, they cant handle the load of a breakfast crowd. Bad service.
