This little coffee shop is one of my favorite spots on Kauai. It's in Koloa town, which is an absolutely charming place where my grandpa grew up, and it's full of history. This coffee shop actually sits in what was once the old Hongwanji Buddhist temple right under a huge tree that shades everything with its lush green light. Amazing spot. I definitely come here every time I'm on the island, sit outside and soak in the ambience. Add in the super friendly service; I had a great chat with the manager Helena about things to do on the Southside and how the town has changed over the years, and you just have a lovely spot to spend the afternoon. Not to mention the coffee is roasted in house and they even have a really solid decaf (cuz I can't handle my caffeine). I definitely recommend this spot to anyone in need of a coffee kick and a little conversation. I can't recommend enough.
Helena was great! Her service was exceptional and my berry iced tea was berry good!!!
They have real cappuccinos here, which was really awesome. It was also pleasant inside and open on New Year’s Day.
For me this is the best coffee shop on any of the islands. They pull great shots, so any espresso drink is on the table for someone looking for good coffee. There haupia foam cold brew is an absolute must to try.Service here is always great and friendly. And the windows are usually open so a great open air feel when you are inside.
