Irwin Inn - Lakefield

The three of us had never visited this restaurant before and were pleasantly surprised. We all ordered the fettuccine alfredo, which we found to be very good but lacking a bit of seasoning. The presentation was great, and we enjoyed the garlic toast that came with it. We loved the view of Stoney Lake, although the windows could have been cleaner. The waitress was friendly and delightful to chat with. Two of us decided to share a cheesecake, and the waitress split the serving in two, adding a birthday candle to mine. Such a thoughtful touch. Thank you. We would definitely come back again.

I arrived at this restaurant on Friday night and checked into my room, only to find 2 inches of dust on the night tables, dresser, and bed post. The next morning, I tried to make breakfast, but the frying pan still had old cooked-on food stuck to it. When I tried to rent a boat, I was disappointed to find that there was only one boat available, and it was already rented out. The website had advertised a variety of activities like tubing, but there was nothing to do at the restaurant. I am considering checking out and requesting a refund, but it seems difficult to find someone to assist me, as there is never anyone around for help.

This resort was marketed as a luxury family destination, but it fell far short of that description. We had a family reunion there in July 2015 with over 85 people in attendance, and it was disappointing. The manager was rarely available and unhelpful when we could find her. The rooms seemed outdated, with holes in the window screens allowing mosquitoes in. The golf course was untended, and the food service was slow. Even simple items like a grilled cheese sandwich took over an hour to arrive. Dinner service for nearly 90 people was slow, with children missing out on dessert. The children's play area was run down, with safety hazards present. Despite the high prices, the overall experience was a disappointment. We will not be returning.

We visited the resort recently for a family event. The staff was helpful and accommodating until the day of our event when they turned rude and provided us with **** treatment. The boardwalk is falling apart, the games room is under water (it's like it was flooded and the meat was all grizzle. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your money.Oh ps. I was even yelled at by the hottest in front of other guests on checkout when I brought up my concerns from my stay.
