The Hamlet - Lambeth

I have been going to the hamlet for years and have loved it, however the last experience will be my LAST time due to the rude and dismissive manager. Booked a table online for 2:30pm unbeknown to use the Resturant didn’t open until 4pm so when we arrived everything was closed. So we went to a cafe across the road to wait for 1.5 hours. When we came back at 4pm we mentioned the error to the manager politely as we where being seated and she was rude, had an unpleasant attitude, was dismissive and brushed us off basically it was our fault as they don’t open until 4pm we’ll if that’s the case then there’s clearly an ERROR with YOUR website. We then ordered drinks but after the negative interaction with the female manager the atmosphere was off. We ordered 1 round of drinks and they weren’t the usual standard (Mai TAi tasted like Pure orange juice was missing some syrup) went to the bar to ask to add a lil syrup and was told that that’s how it should taste !! The cheek of it !! Its my favourite drink I know how it should taste so we left straight after. Very disappointing experience in my opinion the manager is very defensive and needs customer service training to de escalate situations rather than escalate them and the bartender was a lil Heavy on the juice no big problem but if a customer is telling you something you should take notice and try and resolve the issue.

This was the perfect venue for my 30th. The private room is great, well decorated and a great space for dinner and dancing. Elsa and her team are amazing, they made sure throughout the whole evening that everyone was well looked after along with also speaking to me regularly leading up to the function to ensure everything was as I would like. The food at The Hamlet is amazing, i've eaten there a few times before and on the night of my party everyone was raving about their food! You are made to feel like you are in your own home, extremely relaxed and such a friendly atmosphere. I couldn't have wished for a better 30th.

I attended a private function at the Hamlet . Great ambience , excellent service and very good food . What more can you ask for ? Highly recommended.

My sister had her 30th birthday celebrations at the Hamlet on Friday evening downstairs in the private room. Everything was PERFECT. My sister decided to book there due to having a previous drink at the hamlet which ended in being there for the whole day and night due to the delicious food wine and amazing friendly service. The food is honestly AMAZING the pasta dish is better than any pasta I have had. The whole team at hamlet are so welcoming and friendly and if you are undecided about booking a party or event here … this is a review to say DO IT you will not be disappointed. We will be back again soon x xx
