I can't really comment on how the potatoes tasted since the presentation was so unappealing that I couldn't bring myself to try them. They resembled thick, dry, unappetizing cutting discs. As for the salad, I ordered the grilled Caesar salad, which was delicious, but I was surprised to find it served as two large wedges rather than in a more conventional way. I prefer not to have to work that hard to enjoy a salad. Overall, I will definitely return.
Don't just take my word for it—believe the hype! I brought my husband here for the first time to celebrate my birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience! The staff were amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the food (especially the Ribeye Steak) was absolutely mouthwatering! We can't wait to return!
We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. Our waiter, Kevin, was both knowledgeable and helpful, offering great suggestions that enhanced our overall experience. We enjoyed the Filet Mignon, Escargot, Au Gratin potatoes, and mushrooms that accompanied the fillet, along with the Faroe Island salmon. The salmon and the fillet truly stole the show; they were impeccably cooked and worth every penny. If you find yourself in Lansing, Michigan, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
Wow. The best steak I've ever had! The act was amazing. When they say it melts in your mouth, its no joke. Potatoes au gratin also amazing, and I am usually not a fan. They had an Ahi Tuna Appetizer special tonight, which could not be passed on, served on a bed of Arugula. To complete it, excellent service Garrett was great! Will be back soon.
It takes a pretty amazing experience for me to leave a review for most restaurants, and that is exactly what we got at Bowdies. My husband and I were in the area from Tennessee and decided to go to Bowdies for our 1 year wedding anniversary after seeing great reviews. The prices may seem high for a steakhouse in Lansing, but the quality of the food and drinks, as well as the professionalism of the staff make all of it well worth the money. As appetizers we had the escargot and the goat cheese, both of which surpassed our expectations. The goat cheese came out still sizzling from the hot butter and the escargot was exactly as I hoped. For our meat, we got the tomahawk steak which was perfectly cooked and our waiter sliced it in front of us at the table, taking extra time to explain the sections of the steak and the method of cooking it. Honestly, a knife was hardly needed as it seemed to cut like a hot knife through butter It was melt in your mouth perfection. For sides, we shared the honey glazed carrots and au gratin potatoes and were just as pleased. The wine and alcohol selection were extensive and offered options for just about any palette I got a glass of rosé and my husband got a whiskey sour (house made sour was fantastic, more of an orange base which really complemented the Jameson). The brownie dessert was the perfect way to wrap up a dinner of surpassed expectations. All wait staff was kind and knowledgeable about the food and drinks served there. We will be going back each time we come to Michigan in the future.
