We call direct to the hotel to make our reservation which we have done in the past with absolutely no problems. Altogether it took over 20 minutes. 2 different ladies helped us. First we were told they were booked for the evening, then we were told there was a single king room, we said we would take it. Complete silence, then retold to hold for a moment 2-3 minutes later another person came on and said there wasn't any single kings, I asked what happened to the First Lady, I was told she was taking over. We were again put on hold, after a few moments minutes she came back on and said there was only a double king suite. By then my frustration was over the top. I wanted a confirmation as to what was actually available. Again on hold then I was told a single king room. By then not sure what we had I asked to speak to a manager. I was told she was the manager. Wow if she was the manager she either needed more training or replaced!!!! We paid for our single king room, check n was about as good as making the reservation! We had asked for a Military discount which we also did not get at the time of our reservation but was given when brought to the attention at checkin. Not happy campers and will not be staying there on our return home. I'm changing my rating to a 5 based on the response from the management. We were contacted directly by phone. We discussed the issues we had. We were informed the had been dealt with and apologized. After a long discussion with her have reviewed my initial comments. I want to leave those comments but also show why I have changed the rating. We have stayed at this La Quinta on several occasions with absolutely no issues. This was a first, however, when the service, whatever it is , is subzero I have to comment. We would stay here again, and highly recommend to travelers.
This was a wonderful oasis. Having lived in the Trinidad area 40 years ago we were so pleased with the incredible attention to the history of this area. This hotel is clean and offers terrific amenities. The free breakfast is as good as you can get a a restaurant. Great options.
Outstanding team members. Rooms were clean hospitality at its finest. Breakfast had a lot to Choose from, and everything was clean. Enjoyed my long stay and ten stars!
My favorite La Quinta of all. I like the art on the walls, I like the piano bar music that occasionally will waft from the lobby, I like the consistent quality of the breakfasts, I like the consistent friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the rooms, I like the welcoming of my two dogs and the dog treats made available to them, I like that I have always had bathrooms with showers that work and hot water that lasts, I like that the a.c./heater works right, and I like its setting, in the cute as my wife says town of Trinidad. I go out of my way to come this way and stay here when I travel, several times a year, back and forth from Central Texas to Utah. Compared to lots of other La Quintas, not mention other hotels, I 've stayed at, this is the *only* one I 've ever had an inclination to compliment. Oh...and it does 't hurt that there 's a Walmart next door, just a walking path away.
Bed Bugs! Do not stay here, they have bed bugs. I showed the manager and they just swept it under the rug. It was awful dealing with the staff here. Nothing was done about the bed bugs. I even emailed them the photos. They harassed me for them and once I sent it to a very strange email address I never heard back from them. So here is the truth. Breakfast runs out 30 mins before it ends, you wait in line for someone that doesn't want to be there to serve you what you could have just scooped up yourself. Why isn't it buffet style? All the food and juice ran out. Every time you ask if it's ready yet they say 15 minutes... Stay away.
