Nice spot for a coffee, cake or something more substantial. Quite a few foodie pop ups in Meanwood, but if you want a relaxing place with character, great prices and wonderful food, then this is the place. Go where the locals go, and it is all mostly homemade and tasty snap.

I only called in for a coffee, but enjoyed my visit. Marcel is a very friendly, pleasant guy, and clearly works very hard. I'll be back for something to eat the next time I'm in Meanwood.

We went to Marcels to get a takeaway food for lunch and ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas and one portion of tuna pasta bake that came with chips. The chips were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had, and the jerk chicken was absolutely delicious! Lovely service and really affordable, can’t wait to go back!

Food here is great. The gentleman serving is run off his feet, but does a great job. He even makes his own bread to sell, so you can just pop in for a loaf if you don't have time for a coffee. Deserves a bigger spot. There is no public loo, and it would be a bit tight for a wheelchair user, but it's well worth a visit. The atmosphere is welcoming and laid back. Would recommend the Curried goat, and also the cakes yum!
