Mariachi's Mexican Cuisine - Lihue

If you leave a negative review for this place, you might as well head back to the hidden neighborhood in California you came from and not return. The food is good, the people are friendly, but be prepared for Hawaii prices. I'm not sure what the vegan influencer who called them the best is complaining about; that sounds like fake news to me. I tried the shrimp cocktail and some mahi tacos — the shrimp was excellent, while the tacos were just decent. It's a nice spot by the bay with a balcony and surprisingly good mai tai cocktails. The owner even mentions how they get whiny reviews on Google Maps. Don't change a thing, Amigos! Margarito is the number one boss!

The shrimp with chorizo was so spicy it left my face numb, and I found it odd that the shrimp still had their shells on, especially since the dish is essentially stuffed. It might be enjoyable for some, but it wasn't for me. One issue I had was with their billing process. They automatically included a tip when presenting the bill, and then they added another tip when I paid by card. This practice is unacceptable. A tip should be something I decide based on the service, which was good, and my mixed feelings about the food. The rest of my group had fajitas, which looked appealing. Overall, the experience was just okay, but I didn't appreciate their automatic tip choice, so I’m giving them one star less on principle.

Mariachi's is a must-visit for us whenever we're in Kauai. Our entire family enjoys the food, the service is excellent, and the location is perfect. During lunch today, our teens remarked that their meals were even better than what they had at Duke’s the night before, where they all ordered Steak Fajitas!

Great place near Sonesta Resort. Breakfast is particularly great. The homemade hot sauce has a wonderful taste and decent bite.

Great service, delicious food, amazing location, and their coffee, I mean, just their regular, black coffee, was FANTASTIC! We were super impressed with this place and recommend it for anyone in the area craving authentic Mexican cuisine at a reasonable price. ??
