Rigbys - Liverpool

Visiting relatives I’d heard about Rigbys in Liverpool city centre as our relatives weekly choice for a few beers. It seemed rude to turn down a visit. Near the main shopping areas the pub is a throwback to old bars of yesteryear. Wood and brick, small snugs and a massive courtyard all add to a great atmosphere. We spent a few hours there. Choices of real ale tried, Yellow Submarine and White Rat along with lagers Carling, Amstel and Blue Moon (optional slice of Orange). There was a constant stream of drinkers, the atmosphere was great and only a couple of tv screens showing sport to distract or watch. Toilets are down steep steps which on crutches were carefully negotiated. Prices were good and beer quality great. Staff welcoming and efficient. Lovely way to avoid shopping. Meals apparently are very nice too.

Loves this pub! we are spurs fans and try to come every year for a way game and each time we come to thomas rigby. we love the pub – a large selection of behave. always so inviting (our football supplier! and always a great atmosphere. This time the assistent joe made us so welcome, but all the staff are great, really friendly.

Great old fashion pub serves great real ale. most with the radio, which is fantastic as they get a real full-bodied pint. unusual to go north in the last days. large courtyard from the back when it is hot to stay cool in

Always an excellent meal. beautiful chutes, cakes and fish and chips. probably the best traditional public house in the city liverpool. large selection of ales and gins. the staff is friendly and helpful.
