The Spice City - Liverpool

I could stay in there all day you get to meet new people and the drinks are reasonable too, just a shame its only busy at the weekends otherwise no music on and fir that kind of bar they should always be live music on or a DJ. It is one of my favourite places in Liverpool but getting run down a little!

We liked the music and the staff were very friendly. However, the bar allows clientele to Vape constantly inside without challenge asking them not too. It’s very off putting. (Even the security guard bouncer was walking round vaping!! while not illegal, it’s not pleasant for others trying to enjoy the venue.

It was an ok experience, but the place is in need of a bit of TLC. I last visited this place 25 years ago when the gay scene was typically a seedy place to go… the Lisbon is still in this place, and has not changed in a quarter of a century! I appreciate that it is a listed building, but surely that does not mean a little bit of money can’t be spent on overhauling the decor? The toilets were particularly dire. Had 1 drink and left if you want to step back in time to a place where the ‘scene’ was seedy and cruising was a thing then it’s perfect. Was disappointed, but it did take me right back to my teens, as it has changed so little. The staff were pleasant enough

I love the Lisbon but fire alarm went off intermittently for 40 mins loads of people left efficiently I asked for a refund of half our drinks as it was impossible but the prima Donna staff we’re awful ,be better at your job or lose it is my simple message from someone who loves the place awful

We visited this bar on a Sunday for Lady Sian's quiz and bingo evening and had a great time. We also had some food (a lovely roast and, although it wasn't on the menu, they very kindly made a vegan pizza for one of our friends) which along with the drinks was very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall very welcoming place with great atmosphere. Lady Sian was a brilliant hostess. We will definitely stop by next time we're in Liverpool.
