Contribuisci feedbackThe Eggs Benedict was outstanding, and the owner prepared the sauce fresh just for us. It felt like Michelin Star quality in terms of food and service. We dined in for breakfast, and the price per person was around CA$70–80.
The portion was just right for someone my age (over 60), and the hash browns were fantastic. They were small, cubed, and cooked perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. The meal also included toast and jam, as well as crispy bacon—all of which were delectable. To top it off, the coffee was excellent. I sat on the terrace overlooking the main road, and even though Longview can get busy in the summer, this is a spot you shouldn't miss for a wonderful meal. The restaurant has a classic, old-fashioned vibe both inside and out, and the charming little veranda terrace is lovely. I even had my kitty with me, who was securely tied to the post. The sun was shining, and the food was truly great at Root 22. The atmosphere was welcoming, filled with wonderful people, and the flavors left a delightful impression that lingered throughout the day. If you're looking for a fantastic breakfast spot, this is it! So, if you're passing through Longview, make sure to stop by Route 22—you won't regret it, and your taste buds will thank you!

This is a charming and quiet little restaurant run by a lovely family, and they are very accommodating. My husband and I made the extra 10-minute drive south of Black Diamond, although I didn’t realize it was primarily a sandwich and pizza place. I asked an older gentleman there if they had gluten-free options, and he mentioned that they didn't. However, he offered to prepare a nice salad for me that I would surely enjoy. I told him to use his creative flair, and it turned out to be AMAZING! It was DELICIOUS and satisfying. Make sure to ask for the AnnaMaria salad! I have a picture of it, but I haven't uploaded it yet.
