Mcalister's Deli - Lynchburg

Staff was very rude. They were out of potatoes and acted like it was our fault that we were not told they were out.

Good place to sit down to eat American food. It's nothing fancy, but no complaints!

Lots of soups, salads, and awesome sandwiches to choose from. I had the pecanberry salad ? and enjoyed it. Would have liked more strawberries but it was a good lunch. Others in my group tried mac-n-cheese (cheesy ? , potato soup, grilled cheese sandwich, Ruben and everyone enjoyed their food. I would recommend a lunch.

Visit started poorly; no greeting or indication she was ready to take our order, just a blank look like it was an inconvenience for us to be there. Then she mumbled through my question about what was in a particular item; not helpful at all. Wife ordered a small potato soup as her side item but it tasted more like dish soap than potatoes. This is the second time we’ve had poor service and less than adequate service involving our food specifically so probably not stopping at this McAlister’s anymore.

It’s the quality of a sit down restaurant, but the convenience of seating yourself and taking things at your pace. I’ve gone here with friends multiple times and enjoyed staying for a couple hours with the reassurance that we weren’t taking up a table that a server needed. It is self service in the sense that you see yourself and you order your own food either at the counter or through the app. But the staff brings your food to you. Often, they have a couple staff circulating the restaurant offering to clean up any trash from tables and provide refills. The food is good. I haven’t had anything here that I don’t like. Really great sandwiches! I highly recommend getting the app because you get free things. Obviously the more you use it the more free stuff you get. The restaurant is always clean, and the staff are always really friendly. Parking: A small parking lot in front of the building into the side of it. Plenty of spaces for the size of restaurant. Kid-friendliness: The dining area is very much an open floor plan with plenty of seating. Lots of space for kids to just be kids. The atmosphere is casual. They have a kids menu.
