Borealis Fish Market and Restaurant was a bit of a walk from my hotel, but I decided to try their trio of fish and chips. Most of the items on my plate were delicious.
I traveled to Matane for business, but I was also on a mission to find a top-notch seafood shop to bring some fresh ocean fare back to Montreal.
It's a seafood restaurant in a seafood shop! Good idea and a well look place. The food was ok... we were disappointed by the salmon and the fish and ship but it was still eatable!
I didn't go to the restaurant. On the other hand, fishery is exceptional. Actually, it doesn't smell fish when you come in. We wanted to bring back fish but had no ice. free of charge, they offer to pack our purchases in a styromousse ice cooler to allow us to bring back things and make the journey to the house (6 to 7 hours drive in our case.) excellent fresh, frozen and smoky products. a pure happiness that is worth the detour. I think it's even possible to order online for delivery but I don't know how it works. I'll try. anecdote: my spouse had forgotten his cell phone in the bathroom. We were 20 minutes away on the road back. I had a business card. I phoned and explained the situation a little panicked. The employee has rushed to keep me online with the wireless to check. Indeed, she was able to reassure us live and keep the phone with them the time we return. Bravo, honest people are rare today.
