Swanbank Bar & Cafe - Maylands

After playing 18 holes of golf, the next pleasant surprise was the food. The chicken burger, fries, and beer special for $18.00 were worth the 40-minute drive alone.

The dining experience was extremely poor, with bad service and a 45-minute wait for our meals. The calamari, chips, salad, and shrimp were all served cold, and the portion of shrimp included only five pieces without any salad. This is definitely the worst place I have eaten at in a long time. I would advise others not to waste their time or consider visiting this restaurant.

I have to admit that I was cautious about having lunch at a golf club café bar. When we walked in, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our group was well taken care of, with drinks served before we placed our food orders. The café may be basic, but the food was delicious. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection and everyone in our group who ordered it agreed it was the best they had ever had. The senior members of our group were also pleased with the option of a smaller portion size from the senior lunch menu. The presentation of the meals was good, and the chips were of high quality. The salads were fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning to this place, especially since the view overlooking the golf course was so relaxing. There is outdoor seating available, but we opted to sit inside due to the cool weather. Tea and coffee were offered, and the coffee was served hot (not lukewarm like in many other places). Customers order at the bar and collect their meals themselves, but the friendly staff made this process easy. One of our friends who had a foot injury even had their meal delivered to their table without having to ask.

This place has given so much promise its location just a few steps away from the swan river and before the maylands public golf course. it is old, dated and necessary to be demolished and some decent facilities built. the condition of the toilets is...atrocious we arrived on Saturday night at 6.30 to get a meal and said the kitchen was closed. the venue is a missed opportunity and the renter must have a long look at what they do. What a fantastic location could be if money was spent to update the facilities.

After 18 holes of golf, the food was surprisingly good and just what you needed. The chicken parma was delicious, as are the burgers. They've done well.
