Arrived to the Crown Cervo in Southbank approximately 9pm last night. We were politely greeted and seated outside near a heater with a great view. However, we were told as soon as we sat down that we had to order quickly as the kitchen was closing soon. We had to send the Arancini entré back as it was stone cold in the centre, the second portion of Arancini was slightly warmer, but still cold in the centre we ate it because we were hungry and didn’t want to seem rude and send it back a second time). Our Cabonara had very little ingredients other than pasta, hardly any bacon pieces, no garnish and was splashed into the plate with very little care on presentation. Not only were we rushed to order and our meals made with no care, half way through our dinner the waitress shut down the blinds and took away the view of the river, which so far was the only part of the dining experience we enjoyed. Staff then dropped the bill to each table around us and started sweeping while we were still eating). Safe to say it was one of the worst, rushed dining experiences we’ve had in Melbourne so far : my partner and i were so disappointed about the whole experience start to finish.
The Italina restaurant is located on the waterfront in Melbourne. It was nice to sit outside and eat al fresco. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is well prepared and satisfying. My risotto with chicken was done just right as was my wife's pizza. They even served the pizza uncut as one would expect in Italy. It's a nice place to have a good, yet casual dinner.
We had a very pleasant dinner here. The waitresses were extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. My wife had a garden salad and bruschetta both crisp and freshly made and I had fun with a (massively topped) chicken bbq pizza. Though we were obviously tourists, we were treated very well and we enjoyed ourselves greatly here. Thank you!
We were actually looking for somewhere for breakfast/brunch but couldn’t find anything open so we ended up here for lunch on a rainy day in Melbourne. It was really nice sitting outside watching the rain on the river. Service was good and quick. Mojito was very good! We had a Gluten Free Bruschetta, Seafood Marinara with penne pasta and a chicken and mushroom risotto. The food was good without being amazing. There were several gluten free options on the menu and both pizzas and pasta could be made gluten free. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a quick decent meal. Prices are a little expensive for what it is but location is great and for me the gluten free options make it worthwhile. Serving sizes were quite generous and I would go back. This would have been 3.5 stars if it was an option better than average quite very good!!!
