Emerald Peacock - Melbourne

Thanks upstairs bar is a great place for a drink and if you smoke. Plenty of heaters around to keep warm in winter. Mulled wine is a nice addition for a cold night.

Stumbled across this venue after eating at a Mexican Restaurant next door. The decor is absolutely gorgeous. Even though Winter, we opted to sit upstairs nearby to heaters. We visited on a Thursday night and it was not busy, but the place had a great vibe.The music was great and got a tad louder as each hour went by which added to the atmosphere, before you knew it, we where dancing :)Now that I found this gem of a place, I will add to my list of venues to return too next time when we next visit Melbourne.

The Emerald Peacock has a lovely rooftop (quite large, so could cater big groups). The cocktail jugs aren't absurdly overpriced, I think this would be a great way to spend an afternoon in Melbourne.

I booked a booth area at no charge over the internet for a group of 17 friends for my 40th birthday. Was a great location to start the night. Music was good, but not too loud to chat to start off. Good cocktail menu, helpful bar staff, can nip upstairs to rooftop bar if you want, but no need as it was a lovely area to hang out in. Can order food if you like. Had some pizza, was nice. Nice decor. Got a bit quiet on the floor we were on which was below the roof top bar at around 9pm so atmosphere went a bit, but we were ready to move on by then. Classy Melbourne joint with a touch of style and luxury.

Catch up after work with friends on a balmy Melbourne Summer night, perfect on the roof top although it was noisy as Australia day Eve, so we moved down a level to the huge open bar area, lots of space, tables and quiet booths and a bar tender to ourselves. We had a few quick drinks then ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir to satisfy the 2 Kiwis present in the group and some bar snacks. Good range however tit was disappointing that they claim to have Kumara sticks but don't use Kumara, they had Sweet Gold Sweet Potato instead which goes soggy when cooked a bit longer and is orange, not the cool crisp white of Kumara inside. That was enough for us, so left for dinner elsewhere. Generally good, service for food a bit slow though, half hour after work is a bit much, quick snacks are QUICK, not sit down for dinner waiting and chatting you know... Could do better.
