Konban Japanese Restaurant - Melbourne

Tucked away at the top end of ringwood is this little place that does fantastic food. I have never placed a review about any restaurant before but this place warants one. friendly service and great food. try the beef with miso mayo its temder eye fillet with a fantastic sauce. cant wait to go back. Some of the best sushi I've ever had, beautifully served food and the gyoza is amazing. Would recommend 10/10 for Japanese in this area for sure.

Located in a group of restaurants on Maroondah Highway that never seem to do well went along to try. Started with oysters, sushi and tempura. Oysters ok, sushi and tempura very average. Mains were chicken teriyaki and duck something With rice. There are fifty other eateries locally don't go to this one

Saturday night and it was very quiet clue The Sashimi platter was fine but did not have much variety. The menu is small and everything we ordered was ok. Nothing stood out for us. Corkage of $7.50 is a bit rich and service was average. Not likely to return.

We have been to Konban many times and it's always good. We share the entrees,Octopus balls, Age Dashu tofu,salmon Californian roll,Gyoza. All excellent. We also always have the prawn tempura which is light and crunchy with a generous serving of five prawns amongst the veggies. All this food washed down with a boy wine is plenty amongst three of us. The young staff are always friendly and up for a chat.
