I had not had Ethiopian food prior to visiting. It was a really delicious

The best option for dinner if you're round Brunswick! The staff are friendly and accommodating; the food is really top notch! We tried the chef's platter, vast enough for four; and decided to have seconds, its so good. A big plus is Ethiopian and South African beer and Ethiopian coffee. I highly recommend to reserve in advance since it gets packed for dinner.

Great food with nice flavours, certainly different way to eat, get the platter all food is served on a type of bread. You then rip of some bread and pick up the food with your hands.Loved the chicken and the lamb but others also nice like fish and goat.Small restaurant that got a little noisy at times and service was just OK.Definitely something different a great night out would highly recommend trying this restaurant and food.

The Abyssinian was quite packed when we got there as it was a small restaurant with about 10 tables. There wasn't a lot on the menu but the food was quite filling. We had no cutlery so of course, we had to eat with our fingers. There was so much 'injera' (Ethiopian-style bread) and it tasted awesome. The food was amazing and we were hit with a whole variety of flavours. The service was average and the layout of the restaurant was great, decorated with African stuff. The toilets were hidden round the back under the stairs and were fairly squished. We left with our bellies full and experienced something new as we had never had Ethiopian before. The price was pretty good and I recommend this restaurant to people who are seeking some different.

Great restaurant, never had Ethiopian cuisine before and love it! All the food was great, and the African beers too. We ll definitely be back..
