Big Country Truck Stop - Merkel

Facility is old and being demolished soon. Replacement is under construction next door. Looks to be bigger and better.

I look as I am, homeless. They were kind and gracious to me. I would definitely recommend stopping here for gas, snacks, and rest. It looks like a Mom and Pop kind of place and I guess it might be, but it has something that the more modern places don 't. It has heart. They care for the locals and the traveler as if they were all friends.

Plenty of 18 Wheeler Parking . It's two different stores here . One a C-Store . The other a truck stop , with a restaurant . The waitress was funny and very nice . She reminded me of Flo , from the tv show Alice . For those that can remember , that far back
