Pier 601 Seafood - Mocksville

The checkout experience was incredibly frustrating. The cashier insisted she had removed the charge for the oysters, yet ended up charging us separately for the remaining items on our plate, which meant we ended up paying nearly full price for a mediocre potato and a bowl of lettuce. She was also unnecessarily rude and unfriendly. The one bright spot in our visit was our waitress, who was both friendly and attentive. However, we feel the need to caution others about the low food quality and poor management. We didn’t feel valued as customers at all. When we mentioned it was our first time there, she simply brushed us off. It’s a shame that this is the only seafood restaurant in the area, especially when there are many other high-quality seafood options available elsewhere.

This restaurant was highly recommended by a local tow truck driver, and we had a wonderful experience! The hush puppies and tartar sauce were outstanding. The shrimp and scallops were also very tasty, although my husband's salmon was a bit dry; it still had good flavor. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely return to Pier 601 just for the hush puppies and tartar sauce. We would love to get the recipes for both since we probably won’t be passing by that way again. For those living nearby, enjoy your meals there—you’re really lucky!
