Onions rings were delicious, crispy of the outside and soft Onion on the inside. Baby-back ribs were cooked to perfection. Cons: the rib sauce is way too rich and thick, it also tastes like it has a BBQ base to it, but is sadly ruined by the over the top aroma of cumin? And cardamom? Would be better off without the spice and to dilute the sauce a bit. Some better beers on tap wouldn't hurt as well.
My partner and I had one of the lunch specials available. There are some good specials held everyday. However, the burgers were pretty average for the price paid and the portion was quite small. I may return just for the great service and atmosphere.
We came here on a Wednesday night for their special wings deal $12 for 15 and sad to say that these wings gotta be the worst wings we have ever had. The wings themselves had little to no flavour, the crumb outside was just powdery and flaked off at your slightest touch. Not sure how these wings were prepared but they weren't crispy, weren't golden, just a soggy mess and the hot sauce didn't provide much help in the flavour department. Perhaps other items on the menu are better but not sure we'd like to come back. hippokathy.weebly.com
Had the Aussie burger was absolutely delicious. Wife had the chicken burger and loved it, we shared the loaded fries which were tasty and by then we needed a third person to finish the food!
A nice little spot in the middle of a surprisingly good selection of restaurants. The Coventry Village has awful parking set up (two ways in, one way out haunted by a horrible give way to incoming traffic so it's almost impossible to get out) so be prepared if you come on a weekday lunch to sit in traffic for about 20 mins incoming and 30 mins outgoing. That said, this place is on the corner with a nice, spacious courtyard facing Walter Rd. It has counter service and a billion different menus. The staff were friendly but a bit disorganised - the many different menus with various specials are on the tables. I ordered wings, ribs/chips and a haloumi burger. It was a bit misleading that the rib special on Saturday is actually "riblets" and a totally different dish to the full price option - I only found this out when I was pressured a few times to upgrade. I was quite annoyed to then find out after paying that Saturday was also $1 wing day - this was advertised on the blackboard over the kitchen pass. As opposed to the specials on the walls or the three different menus outside (I did ask about this after paying but no offer was made to adjust the bill). The wings were ok tasting with what tasted like bottled sauces and each wing was very tiny with barely any meat. The serve was very small too with 8 tiny wings despite ordering the large serve - but they were so soggy and slimy as they tasted steamed, so this was unappetising. The ribs however were delicious - tasty and falling off the bone with a decently large serve and a tiny handful of chips and slaw which were fine. The haloumi burger with harissa mayo was quite underwhelming, a rip off really - some undercooked eggplant and two tiny slivers of haloumi with rocket. The staff forgot cutlery (or forgot to tell me??) as the box in the corner of the room also didn't have that or enough napkins. I did like that they had various condiments on the table. The meal overall was very average - the ribs were really good but that was it. Even with all of the deals I'm not sure I would bother going back - the pizzas looked quite average and undercooked too.
