Went over the weekend with my boyfriend for our 6th monthIt was perfectBooked ahead and the waitstaff were very lovely.
This is my favourite place for sushi in Perth. We ordered the salmon aburi sushi, 'Kamikaze', (shredded crabstick aburi sushi with prawn tempura), and 'Fry me to the Moon', (deep fried cooked salmon and cream cheese sushi with soy and mayo). The aburi sushi is the best here, cooked perfectly and the sauce is so flavoursome!
Fresh Japanese with a twist in a sleek setting. BYO is a bonus but the close table settings can make a romantic dinner seem like a group therapy session. The aburi sashimi (lightly blowtorched) was succulent and fresh, the wagu beef with truffle oil was a nice texture but something salty was a little overpowering. The gyoza was good without being exceptional but the stand out for me was the inventive 'Ayres Rock 'n Roll' craft roll. It contained shredded crab sticks, avocado and was topped with sweet potato fries and a squirt of sweet chilli mayo on the side. It was fun, tasty and unique. Good value Japanese food compared to others in the area with bonus relationship advice from your neighboring table.
