Great location if you want to sneak out to get a view of the sunset over the bay. Whether you get the cod, haddock or halibut, it is delicious, the batter is awesome. I am an avid fish and chipper and it is a great meal. Drinks are pricey and the two piece haddock is about $5 more than anywhere else we've seen. What they got going for them is there isn't tastier fish and chip around. Go get cheaper and risk it not tasting great, or spend more and enjoy your meal.
We were driving past, when I said to my spouse that this place had great reviews online. We had to try it and it was great. Big pieces of fish with not too much batter, just the way I like it. It was very busy, so we took ours to go.
My wife and I arrived just before closing, but they were able to get us food to go and we ate on the deck. I had the scallop burger and she had the chowder. Both were delicious and we were very satisfied. It's a small spot, but seems popular for obvious reasons.
We arrived at 1 pm on a Monday and lucked into a table for two out doors. Both ordered the 1 piece fish and chips. Chips are fresh cut, fish is fresh and both with a perfect golden cook.Service fast and friendly.Great spot, highly recommend.
After reading the recommendations we thought this would be a great place for lunch. Well, no, not really. My husband thought it was okay, but I found it not okay. In fact I left half of my lunch in the basket. I may have been influenced by the excellent dinner we had the night before, but, I don't really believe that. I would give Rick's a miss-certainly not worth a drive to get to.
