We overnighted at the Best Western, and wanted to have dinner close by, can't get any closer! Also it was recommended to us by a local. Dinner was delicious & the service provided was excellent, very funny & friendly while professional. I enjoyed the noodle stir fry with prawns while my husband had the rib & chicken sampler. Dessert was very good, we shared, as the potion of peach/apple strudel was huge! The deco was very nice as well.
Was here in their private room for a dinner in December 2016. The room was off to the side and private which was good. Only issue there is the heat was either completely cranked or the air conditioning was completely cranked. The waitress was friendly but definitely seemed a bit frantic with our group size (there was about 14 of us).Nelson is known for it's alternative food scene and all of their restaurants typically have stuff for the vegan, vegetarian, GF, celiac, can't eat eggs today cause it's a Tuesday type place. In other words, they're VERY flexible. I ordered a Thai curry and was promised that it was GF. First, not only was I up all night with massive cramping along with other nasty bodily side effects, but it was just plain awful. No seasoning to speak of an definitely no spice; they had an entire salad worth of shredded green onions on the top, giant pieces of undercooked carrots, etc. I will never eat here again.
Staff were very nice and full of local advise. Healthy prepared food. Eggs Benny was awesome! Highly recommend.
Although the service was good, the food was very standard fare, nothing special. I had breakfast which was like a Denny's grand slam, just not as good. A little renovation and updates would go a long way. They should reconsider their menu items as well.
