Beautiful indoor atmosphere at Hume Hotel. Beautiful vintage and antique furniture. Vegan and vegetarian options clearly marked on menu! The vegan bowl was so delicious! My friend ordered a vegetarian mushroom Ravioli. Very recommended right in front of Baker St in Nelson.

If you are looking for drinks, this is a fine decor with a large ambience. Unfortunately, their dedicated "gluten free" menu is very deceptive. Almost everything on it is not edible because food is not cooked in a gf dedicated frit. In order to make something worse, the staff has no indication of celiac or gluten free and I was served food cooked in the deep frit, although conversations with the hostess about my needs and asked to serve only gf items that were not fried deep. While the server apologetic they did not understand the meaning of stress from the incident.

Gluten-free menu is large. Several GF desserts. Waitress knowledgeable about cross-contamination.

Like others have mentioned, the menu can be misleading as some items labeled gluten-free are not actually safe. Make sure to confirm with your server, however, they do offer a few tasty gluten-free options.
