First visit to Nelson and was at the Best Western Hotel on Baker St. This restaurant is the hotel lounge/lounge. Great mood with contemporary Italian pizzeria decor. Many items including pizza are GF. Was warned by potential cross contamination by flour in the kitchen. They make their own GF pizza dough in the house. Spaghetti with meatballs was good. Breakfast included GF Toast. Would come back.

Excellent wood fired pizza Love coming here !! Service is spot on and great beers as well
They took the amazing carbonara off the menu and replaced it with a smoked prosciutto one which was not remotely as good. The previous one was a solid 5/5 and this one is an unfortunate 1/5. The menu said it had a cured egg but it didn't unless it was already mixed in but it wasn't creamy or runny so I doubt it. Just really surprised they replaced it with this dish. Also the small cut up pieces of spek and corn niblets didn't really work with the quadrati noodles because it was tiny cubes and pieces in an oil based pasta so it was hard to pick up. You essentially have to eat noodles and then shovel spek and corn in and chew it together. Then why give this review 4 stars? The polenta fries, the squid, the desserts and the excellent server that we had. I applaud whomever decided to do a mint gelato without any chocolate because it tasted amazing (if you like the taste of real mint leaves, not mint flavoring). We came here for brunch last sunday and I had the pork hock with poached eggs. The eggs were poached a bit too long so it didn't run. But the pork hock was amazing. They should find other ways to use it because it's a star. I'm not a fan of kaslo sourdough so it didn't add anything to the dish on the side. I ended up using it to dip the last bits of sauce from my cast iron iron skillet because that bread isn't enjoyable on its own.
