We went for a dinner and four of us. We ordered 4 items from the menu. 1. Burmese Tea Leaf Salad: It was ok in taste, had a little bit and then found a hair inside it, so returned it and the manager gave the refund. 2. Red Curry Chicken: It was good, had proper flavors. 3. Sambal Belachen Fried Rice: This was the best dish on the menu. 4. Roti Parantha (Chicken): This was the most flavorful dish. Overall staff and service was nice. Restaurant seemed a bit old from tables and cutlery.
Great service, Tom Yum soup lacked flavor and pepper chicken could use the same. But the diverse menu offers great selection.
The other day, I and my wife wanted to have some roasted duck wonton noodles at Newark Lion market supermarket shopping center, but it only for carryout. We stopped by this new restaurant in the complex, quite crowded so we decided to try. We didn’t even know it’s Malaysian, burmese, Chinese food. I like curry so I ordered Red Curry Chicken and my wife ordered hot and spices vermicelli. Many times at Thai restaurants, I didn’t like the curry has coconut juice too rich and sweet for my taste but this Red Curry was perfectly made. The taste was just right, flavorful and delicious. My wife noodles were good too but I enjoyed my curry with white rice more. The service was excellent, attentive and pleasant. This used to be a Chinese restaurant too, but now it’s remodeled brighter and cleaner. Good atmosphere for family eating out. The price is a little high but still excellent for the food. Average about $20 per person. A few days later we came to order take out for my daughter and she loved it too. We will come back and try other dishes when we’re too lazy to cook at home.
07/27/2022 Mingala is no longer in Fremont. It will reopen this coming Friday (07/29/2022) in Newark at Mowry/Cedar according to a reliable source! It will be a bigger 3,000 sq ft facility! Was invited to a party and the food was catered from Mingala. I tried the papaya salad and it was heavenly. Spicy, the papaya was crispy, flavorful Lol….. had a chance to bring leftovers home from party!
