With its nod to Queen Victoria herself, the eye catching bar with its racks of wine against exposed brick walls, to the warm and comfortable, and suitably eclectic furnishings, to the brilliant courtyard at the back – complete with wood fire for those cooler nights – it has a lot to offer.
I would love to visit this place again. Visited Mrs Brown during a crowded evening, couldnt get a space. But that didnt stop me frm enjoying the ambience and drink. Cocktail i had was well balance and customer service was good even when it was really full. Shall try visiting during the afternoon and checking out their backyard space that i heard was cosy.
I like Mrs Brown. She is small, diminutive and a little bit Freo. <br/ <br/ I like the broad range of craft beer and cider offerings and the wine list is suitably broad and not overbearing. <br/ <br/ Having been there a number of times in the past I must say that this recent visit did show me that she can be a touch surly in her demeanour sometimes and this was a disappointment. <br/ <br/ Also, please don't serve up a digestif in a full wine glass, it looks like the dregs of a long forgotten Bordeaux in need of a swirl, a sniff, and a toss down the sink! Get some proper glasses if you need. <br/ <br/ So while a bit down on form. She is a dame of north Freo and I will drop in again.
Awesome place to catch up with friends. The drinks are always good no matter what you choose, the staff are always helpful when stuck in what to have. The comfy chairs, quirky decor, laid back and friendly service is the embodiment of Freo. Whenever nibbly I'll just order a burger from next door's Flipside that you can eat at Mrs Brown. Chicken, pear, parmesan, rocket, balsamic sauce burger is the thing of cravings. Def worth checking out again and again..
I absolutely adore this charming neighborhood spot. It's the perfect cozy retreat on a cold winter evening, complete with a crackling log fire in the rear. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the ambiance is just right with the perfect lighting, and the mix of eclectic chairs adds to the charm. I find myself coming back here time and time again.
