Food was of reasonable standard, however the service was appalling. From the moment we sat down and menus placed in front of us, no one came to ask us if we were ready to order. It continued downhill from there with no one clearing the dirty plates. A waitress named Toto came across with the worst attitude problem I've ever encountered from a waitperson. She was just outright rude! It's such a shame to have had the poor experience as we were really looking forward to trying this place out.
The first time I came here was excellent, great service and food but the second was very average. The first time we had a really helpful staff person who helped us choose from the extensive menu and made great recommendations and steered us away from things she thought wouldn't suit. The second time the waitress was OK but we couldn't understand her and she wasn't helpful at all - in fact she refused to give us tap water and couldn't properly explain why. This annoyed me as I've had tap water here the first time but apparently that has changed as a few followers confirmed this experience. Anyway both times I found the noodles to be quite average, a bit bland - my Char Kway Teow was cooked nicely but flavour was lacking, and my second time the curry noodles were similar - very watery and bland. I had the Chilli Crab bao and satay first time which both were so delicious - second time I tried the Roti John which was not roti (is it meant to be??) and again were bland. As we got refused on water we stopped ordering and decided to go elsewhere. A shame as after my first experience I was raving to everyone but I might not return - if I did it would only be for a couple of entrees as I'd definitely go elsewhere for mains. There are so many options nearby for bao though. Not bad, but not great either - the main letdown is in service which I suppose is typical for Perth.

Slightly interesting food at a cheap price. I had the Chang Mai noodles which included an interesting chicken leg which took a little long to come out. The staff are nice. blogsbygabrielle.blogspot.com
