Our waitress was so lovely and was super friendly and accommodating about what I could and couldn’t have. We are already planning our next trip back.
This restaurant is stuck in some kind of time warp. It 's a fish restaurant the 2 choices of fish I would have chosen weren 't available. The whiting scallops I had were very average the 'wedges ' were awful with no flavor obviously cooked in cheap vegetable oil. For what you get, including the lack of finesse in how it 's served it is also overpriced.
Straight up old school Aussie style fish and chip restaurant. This is not a fine dining restaurant but but offers value for money. Scallops /Oysters fresh and flavoursome. The chips were crisp, hot, and hand cut. The salad is a mix of greens dressed in olive oil and lemon. Perfectly sensible and fresh. The fish was cooked as it should be. Perhaps the low key, non hyped style, won't suit all diners, but it made me nostalgic. I will be back.
Yes the food is on the pricey side but it was very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and engaging and the food was cooked well. The 'salad ' really is just lettuce and tomato but the fish is the feature
Crewcut27. We ate there tonight also on a very hot day in Adelaide, trying for patrons, chefs and staff who did their utmost to ensure everyone was well fed and watered in the stifling hot conditions....Adelaide hit 43c today!..airconditioners were battling! We and a number of others stood near 'Marthur ' during the episode of paying the bill in which she was 'overcharged ' $35. What we all observed was a very rude and indignant woman with a bad attitude taking her personal frustrations out on the manager by berating him whilst under pressure with a faulty P O S terminal on the blink after 2 power outages. This rude large framed woman screamed abuse at the Manager and called him a 'cheat and literal liar ' which was out of line and totally unnecessary. It was true that you were abused verbally, but the manager was lame. I personally would have used a few harsher superlatives in the vain of never coming back!!!!!.Pauls food is basic straight to the point and always fresh fish, a well presentable range from happy friendly staff with a good choice of refreshments, menu and desserts. We have been dining there for over 25 yrs with many friends, and have loved it and will continue to do so! I pity the next cafe, shop or restaurant that cops this viscous nasty woman and endeavor to blame them..How rude! Pauls on the Parade is a great fish meal out and the staff cuisine and service there are very good!
