So…… when we went for dinner that evening, we knew that the greens in the dishes were going to be absolutely fresh and believe me, they were also delicious and plentiful. I started with a brie fondant, it was flavourful and definitely enough for two. I tried the duo brochettes, consisting of grilled shrimp and scallops on a bed of white rice and a good size serving of fresh veggies with a scrumptious salad. The other meal was a plateful of linguini with shrimp, scallops and plenty good size pieces of fresh lobster in a cream sauce. Absolutely no room for dessert!
My husband and I stay in Temiscouata-sur-lac when we are heading to the East coast from the Ottawa/Gatineau region, and found this place on our recent road trip. The restaurant is a nice size, and is decorated with antiques. It is in the bottom floor of the inn, and there is parking around back.My husband had the table d'hote menu, which includes an appetizer, main, dessert, and tea or coffee. His shrimp appetizer was delicious! I had the soup of the day, a carrot and coconut milk potage, and both of our mains were steak with fries and salad. We shared the dessert, a chocolate fondant aka lava cake. The food was well prepared and tasty. Our server is also the co-owner, and was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. It is only about a 30 minute drive from downtown Edmundston, NB.
We ate both dinner and breakfast at the inn and thoroughly enjoyed both. Great selection of meals for dinner and the breakfast was wonderful.
Owner Dany met us in the parking lot when we arrived and made us feel at home from the start. We stayed in a beautiful suite and then had the best breakfast of our entire trip to eastern Canada, professionally prepared by Dany's wife Denise. We hated to leave, and are determined to come back for a two-day stay so we can explore the lovely lake area. This is a "must stay" establishment if you are anywhere near Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac.
Auberge Dolce VitaGreat experience. To break our trip from Halifax to Ottawa we decided to stay near the New Brunswick ,Quebec border. Trip -Advisor was instrumental in locating this perfect stopping place. It was easy to find, just off the highway(exit 29) and almost straight down the hill. The proprietaries are dedicated to doing it right and are justifiably proud of their establishment. Danny meet us at the car, assisted with our bags and escorted use to a lovely well equipped comfortable room. His wife, the chef prepared two assume seafood dishes. The soup,a combination of carrot, sweet potato, coconut milk and melon was to die for. Everything was perfectly prepared and presented. Put this place at the top of your list for a stop over or destination.
