Just as the sun was setting between us and the coast we ordered a magnificent seafood platter for two. Not cheap, but what a great selection of seafood whelks, clams, large amounts of crab meat and prawns plus some fresh oysters that washed down nicely with lemon. All in view of the Ria Formosa and Olhão harbour, hopefully where it was all caught. What’s more, service was as you’d expect for a high end restaurant discrete, efficient and friendly. A top place to dine, especially if you’re staying in the hotel.
The Orangerie is closed (temporarely? . The new A Terra restaurant with a modern design, nice views and an open kitchedn with wood oven, is very good. All natural organic ingredients. Only minor point: the winelist is long but the popular Portuguese wines (like f.i. Montevelho are not there. Prices very expensive for Portuguese standards. We had a Periquita that in any shop will cost less than 5 euros, and had to pay around 20 euros a bottle... So, without wine, a fantastic restaurant!
Beautiful view, wonderful staff, finest of food! 5 stars... Well done to the management! Great atmosphere for couples.
We really enjoyed an excellent breakfast in this lovely restaurant with the sea in the distance and the monte to the other side. The indoor area is nicely decorated and we enjoyed all the individual portions of smoothies, cereals, pastries etc.
On a clear day, from the terrace one can see the ocean. The breakfast choices were extensive. The fresh sliced oranges were exceptionally sweet. Interesting fresh juices, good pastries, cheeses, sausage. Fresh cooked mushrooms for the scrambled eggs. I would have preferred to order a boiled or fried egg but this did not seem to be an option. The big honeycomb was an interesting feature. Sunday morning there was about a 15 minute wait for a table. Not sure if that was an anomaly.
