Bouillon is one of our favorites. But last night, everything was a bit off. Our table of five sat down at 5:45p, and we told our waiter we have an event at 8pm. Small meals salads, burgers, soups, oysters, wine. The main courses were served at 7:30p. The bill was presented, and I gave my card (after collecting from the table). When I signed the check, and extra $140 had been added. “Sorry, we forgot to add the wine.” A bit aggravating. Not a usual experience at Bouillon.
Veey loud party of app 6 prople at one end of the restaurant who should have been asked to moderate their volume
We had an out-of-town friend with us who is both a finicky eater and has modest food issues. We were so pleased that someone called the afternoon of our reservation to ask what her concerns were. While she had chosen French for the evening, she was worried about what she might be able to eat even having reviewed the menu online. So she was both relieved and then excited for dinner. Funny story. She had salad and bread. Not very French. I had the most delicious and unexpected gazpacho. kudos to the kitchen for creativity and taste. The mussels did not disappoint. My husband had the French onion soup. Very tasty, very traditional, with some surprise notes. Sauer Kraut? Carraway? Whatever it was was tasty. Our waiter gave us space because we wanted to have a lovely evening’s chat. But even though we thought we were clear about how we wanted the food to come out, we had to ask during dinner for it to be done so. But really, Nothing to really criticize. Thanks again for a lovely evening. Mark
I ate Saturday brunch at Le Bouillon. I enjoyed a mimosa with a French omelet. The omelet was melt-in-your-mouth heavenly. I loved the art on the walls and look forward to returning again soon.
