My wife and I decided to eat in jakes last day in the royal pacific loews, but really regretted that the decision when we had set ourselves. the service was very disappointing, the main reason that we were hurried to order the time water was brought to the table. there was no question about the drinks we wanted or appetizers we wanted, but we were just about to order the entrees. I had to insert something that we wanted to drink and start eating, so our server got the point that we didn't want to be rushed, but that didn't stop him. as soon as the carcinogen was brought to the table, which was quite good, he asked again what we wanted to eat. I had to pick up my appetizers to watch the menu and get a drink to stop pestering about it. When the escaped were brought out, we saw him once before he brought the bill. did not receive any refills on drinks, did not ask if we needed something for our meal, and did not ask about the possibility of dessert. he came directly to the table with the bill that confirmed my perception of him that he wanted us in and out. Finally he seemed very hesitant to accept my season pass card for our discount. I just didn't make a lot of sense. overall was a bad experience and will not come back. hopefully these things will be corrected with the personal if they continue to stay in a first-class resort and want to calculate the prices they do.
Checked into the Loews Royal Pacific and went down to the first floor to Jake's American Bar for a quick lunch and adult beverage. You can dine inside or outside which is nice. The menu has a nice selection of food items with something for everyone. The bar is fully stocked and the bartenders can make you any drink you want. The have a great specialty drink and wine menu with lots a great recommendations. The prices here are fair and reasonable for a resort. The staff here are very attentive and friendly. I had a good dining experience here and recommend to others.
I don't even know where to start. Jake's ranks in my top 5 worst restaurant experiences of all time. While there were some slightly redeeming elements, overall the experience was below poor and I will never be going back.We were seated immediately in a dark, carpeted room that plainly brought about memories of a nice senior living facility off the main bar and sitting area in what could optimistically be called a half full restaurant. It was about 5 minutes before we got water, around 15 20 minutes before our order was taken, and easily an hour before our entrees arrived lukewarm. Two of us ordered burgers but had our orders wrong, and both of our burgers (ordered medium) were cooked to death. I had sweet potato fries but they were chewy from skins being left on and undercooked, plus oily to boot.During the interminable wait for food, runners had no clue where food went and tried to deliver us other people's food two different times. There was a live musician in a separate room who wasn't completely terrible, but when he wasn't performing there was no music or ambiance whatsoever, further reminding me of a nursing home. The service staff wasn't terrible but was incredibly lackluster, with our server visiting our table a total of four or five times over the course of two looong hours. Also, I understand this is a hotel restaurant in a Universal Orlando on site hotel, but even so the food was way overpriced. You could get better food and better service literally anywhere in Citywalk or in the parks themselves for less. The cocktails and pretzel rods appetizer were easily the best parts of the entire visit, and the best I can say for them is they were...good.
After the descent from the airplane and the remembrance of the hotel we were hungry! it rained so that we caught something eating in the hotel. the food was good! crawfish chowder with fruit bowl- the chowder was good, but the overpriced fruit bowl was bad! the ananas was sour, the cantaloupe was hard and the a brombeer was bitter! childer pizza- it was nothing special fish and chips- they ate everything! Burger- nothing super-special what gave this restaurant a 4 stars was the waiter! he was funny, helpful and had a great job!
