We have been coming here for years for dinner, lunch or just a coffee and desert on the way to the snow. The owners Ben and Judy and their staff are always welcoming. It can be busy at times as they do great food. The specials board is always full of great local fresh options. You have to try the Potato Rosti with home made chilli jam and the famous Lemon Tart! Let me know if you can find better.
This restaurant caters for everyone- locals, tourists & ski enthusiasts on their way to the slopes. We visited for dinner having had a poor experience at another local establishment the previous night. It was a cold dark and wet night but the restaurant was toasty warm and packed. The 2 ladies serving did not stop but by golly they worked well together. The food was delicious and there was even home made yo yos and wagon wheels to take away for the last leg of the journey. Highly recommend.
KRC is a must stop on our way to AND from the snow. I can smell their temptations from far away. Roasted Rostis to start dipped in luscious sour cream & chilli sauce. Fresh fresh bread while you wait for them to cook. It's too good to miss. Lots of local produce feature on their vast menu. And wait for it... Their lemon tart is the best hands down. Have one there. And take one home. They're that good! They are happy to do take aways. So if you're in a rush then a barista made coffee with a freshly made wagon wheel is a treat not to be missed. The couple who run KRC are true saints. May they reign forever on the King River!!
Excellent choice of menu (however different what was published on their website) and a good variety of local wines. The food was excellent and served within a good timeframe.
