Busy december, full of office functions everywhere - They manage to find us a nice table, the food was impressive and the beer selection was top notch. For the rest of the night we roamed the city trying to find another bar to continue the hop, to no avail. We ended up getting back to the Spaniard for a few more drinks. Highly recommend.
I've been here twice and eaten once. The beer selection is interesting and reasonably priced, and schooners at happy hour are great too. I've had the Croquettes and the Garlic Prawns to eat. While the croquettes were tasty and enjoyable, I must say that the Garlic Prawns were the best I've had in years. I'd even go as far as to say they were up there with the Witches Cauldron, which is iconic in Perth for Garlic Prawns. Really enjoyable night I'll be back.
Our daughter and her boyfriend introduced us to The Spaniard. We'd booked a table for for Our table was ready and the bar was already quite busy with a nice atmosphere. We did notice that part of our long table was also reserved for people so if you're dining as a couple you may end up on a table with strangers. We didn't mind the high tables, but would not have like to have sat near the window where the ledge to rest food seemed a lot higher than the seating. Being tapas, the portions aren't large and whilst tasty some are a little expensive e.g. for quaters of tomato bread with chorizo. The pork belly and calamari were stand out dishes and we enjoyed each dish. Service was excellent (very warm and friendly). plates, beers and glasses of Sangria came to
And the first thing we were told, you have an hour and half and we'll need the table. I'm sorry I'm not just having dinner per week. I would have booked with meat and wine because eating would have been better for the same price and at least give them 2.5 hours, do not treat their stomachs like macdonalds drive through patrons. I could not enjoy the original of the time limit that was given, and also the salmon melt and so fishy.
