Shortly after Sunday, long wait for a table inside, but we have a table right outside, although it was a bit cool.

I understand why this place always has a huge line! I came by a Monday to midday with two friends and was surprised to see that it was a waiting time, but.

First time here, and an honest review. Service: Top tier. Staff is kind and attentive. Atmosphere: Its cute. Small, layout with a bar style and small dining area. Not many 4 people tables, but they could push the 2 seaters together for a bigger party. Food: Excellent fresh squeezed OJ. And I love that they have bottomless hot coffee for under $4.00, its their own beans. The pancakes are rated a 8/10. Fluffy and light, big and had a nice flavor. Eggs were over scrambled, dense but made up in flavor. Sausage was good authentic pork. Hasbrowns were pretty good. They hit the mark on the crunch but lacked a bit of flavor. Homefries were 5/10. They had flavor, but they were big chunks and kinda soft. The avocado toast was 10/10 for us. The toast was absolutely delicious, the avocado was fresh, and the microgreens were perfect. Overall, I would come back for a 7/10.

We came to Phoenix from the UK and as we were up early (due to jet lag) went to Matt’s Big Breakfast early for breakfast. As soon as we walked in the staff were really welcoming and nice. I was impressed to see the food is all cooked fresh from scratch and the business doesn’t even own a microwave or freezer how many places can say that? Locally sourced ingredients and excellent kitchen team meant our food was epic. Really tasty and lovely. We were served by Gina who was a brilliant server but also, as we found out super clever and knowledgeable about all sorts of things we ended up asking her. What a lovely person and what a great place Matt’s is.
