We were told that no dining allowed inside during lunch hours so we had to endure nearby smokers. then waiting for the party to arrive (5 mns wait) we were then told that the kitchen closed in 15 mns so to hurry up or they could not serve us...OK food was just ok, nothing delicious. no substitutions. I won't go back there and none of the other 5 will either.
But not more. In a typical village with an 11th century church. Not a must to visit, but can be handy.
This is one of our favourite local restaurants. The regular waiter is patient, kind and very efficient. If you ask for meat well done (à l'anglais)! you get it.My husband says they serve the best 'magret de canard' ever and I love their fish and shellfish which is always fresh. The surroundings are lovely. Next to a pine park on the edge of the town. There is ample parking and what is great is that you can take your time. Can't wait to go back for our Wedding Anniversary!
I ate with my book club group - 12. the restaurant had offered to give us a room for our meeting at 11am prior to service; We were put on a mezanine above the dining room and the staff talked very loudly to other staff and 'droppers in' so we could barely hear during discussions.Att 12h30 we went down to our table and the waiter (head)? came to read us the 'menu du jour': soup, salmon and a plate of taster desserts. He asked if everyone was ok with that and I told him that I couldn't eat gluten. He said ok I would have to leave the grilled tomato as it had breading on - couldn't they have found a another tomato? He then brought ministrone soup full of pasta. When I told him i couldn't eat that he said he would leave it on the table for the others. I was not offered even a green salad. As we then waited an hour for the main course, I was very hungry. The main came with afore said tomato covered in breading, a salmon steak and boiled rice. By now we had been at the table for over 2 hours for a 'menu du jour' and still had not had dessert. Eventually that came and of course mine had a small brownie on it which he said I was to give away. Why couldn't he have given me 2 portions of the sorbet that I could eat? At 3pm , 2 and a half hours later the meal was finally finished. I felt as if I had been treated as an upmost nuisance. I will not go back. The meal was certainly not worth waiting 150 minutes for, this quality of meal should have been served inside an hour.
