The slab has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. We love so many of the flavors and appreciate the vast variety offered here (more than any other pizza place we’ve been to! . A while back we did a “pizza bracket” and visited all the most popular pizza places in Utah county. We rated the pizzas based on many qualities and ordered different pizzas visiting restaurants several times. The slab won the bracket (which is based only on the pizza ! I can’t give it 5 stars though, the service here is pretty poor and unprofessional, and they are a bit slow to deliver the pizza to your table. In addition, they stopped giving take out boxes and instead offered us a small sheet of tin foil for our left over 3 slices of pizza. That was pretty lame. As a final note I will admit that some pizza chefs that work there will do better than others, and we can tell when we get the kid and not the experienced guy.
The gimmick of getting 1/4 of a giant pizza is lost on me. The pizza itself was ok. A little overpriced for what you actually get. Also the cashier guy had a bit of an attitude. 3/5 stars. I wouldn't go here again unless someone invited me. You can get better pizza elsewhere.
In order to be a good pizza place, you have to be able to nail a cheese pizza, and the slab does not. Their sauce and crust lack good flavor, and the crust also lacks that initial crunch then chewy texture. It's not bad pizza, but not the greatest step up from other standard chain delivery options. Would rather spend my money elsewhere.
Apart from the ceiling leaking water all over the restaurant, both in the dining room and the kitchen, which has got to be a health and safety risk, it took them the best part of 45 minutes to get 1/4 of a Thai chicken pizza. When it finally did arrive, there was no peanut sauce on it as described on the menu on the wall, when I asked the guy where it was, he said they hadn’t done it for 3 years…so our Thai chicken pizza was just, well, chicken. SLAB was great when it first opened, but it has seriously deteriorated.
