Came here thinking we would get a beautiful lunch as had been here previously some time ago and boy where we disappointed! Menu is very limited and way over priced. Steak $36... am I at a high class restaurant in the city? I don't mind paying $36 for a steak but will only do so if from a steakhouse that is known for good quality steaks! It seems to be, the fancier the dish on the menu the more this venue think they will pull in people who may want to spend $25 for some grated beetroot under a rosti....ahhh no, people want real food!We did see the fish and chip shop next door absolutely packed with people and now realize why. Why would you even consider putting fish and chips on your menu at triple the price when your opposition business next door is making a killing? After going over the menu for sometime to try to find something suitable and not so expensive we decided we would just enjoy our drinks and buy the warm crusty bread with olives to share. The bread was beautiful, the staff are friendly and the location is spot on. Change of menu is needed by the owners or otherwise you will lose business, just as you lost ours today. Shame as it could work!
We had lunch here on Sunday June 4 and enjoyed it. The crab pate enter and gummy shark main were good and enjoyable. Service was friendly and good. A great place for a casual lunch...will return.
Will start coming back to the Foreshore since the new change of hands and the significant turnover in staff. Great to see a smaller and fresher menu with a focus on quality ingredients. all 5 of our dishes were very good with decent proportions.Gin and tonic by the open fire was also a wonderfully warm way to pass half an hour pre dinner drinks.
We went with friends last night and were so disappointed! We booked the previous day for 4 and Ye did not have our booking, though the restaurant seemed near empty for a Saturday night - new owners need to look at these reviews and go back to the wholesome menu of the past. Very limited menu, not going back after many good years with previous owners.
