There is a nice warm indoor terrace (with an indoor fire and blankets) during the cold and lots of outside tables Beers are slightly more expensive than elsewhere, but that's all because of the location right in the middle of the square. We also ordered some food (mainly sausages), but so much food we could share it around. You could also see them cooking it fresh. Also some great live music in the evenings.
Greeted by an old man who was a real smartass. When we asked him what drink was pictured, he said it’s a picture... no kidding. Food was good, nothing special and upon paying our bill he commented about no tip. Waiters in Europe are salaried and this tipping is not required. I told him not to be a smartass and have him 1 Euro.
Very nice warm indoor terrace with great live music. Especially in the wintertime it's nice to enjoy a hotwine with some snacks. (And of course u can smoke inside :
Friendly waiter happy to get us a good seat and explain the menu. There weren't enough snacks so we had a variety of starters (Tapas style although in Latvia! . We ate enough and it was great sitting in the square in the sunshine!
Called in for a late morning coffee whilst on a city break in Riga. We were 'greeted ' by an unsmiling waitress and asked her for two lattes. She disappeared to the bar area to get the drinks only to return a couple of minutes later with two black coffees. We pointed out that we had ordered lattes, whereupon she contradicted us saying that we had ordered black coffees and insisting that she was correct. There were no other customers in the restaurant so she could not have mixed our order up with someone else 's she had made a genuine mistake but would not admit it. She continued to argue with us before she ended up by tut tutting at us and rolling her eyes before marching away to replace the drinks. At that point we told her not to bother as we had decided to take our custom elsewhere and left. The rudest service I have ever encountered!!
