The restaurant is clean and I loved the industrial look of the dining area. I had the grilled salmon, collar and sweet potato wedges and my Fiance had a Cuban sandwich with frits and a salad with the raspberry Vinaiigrette dressing. At first everything was absolutely delicious. The spices used on the salmon and the collar were very tasty, and the potato wedges were perfect. My fiancé said his sandwich was just as delicious. We ordered a dessert that was a very thick cake with berries. Again delicious. I think menu prices are fair compared to other similar restaurants. Our server was very polite and friendly throughout the entire culinary experience. I also liked very much that Chef David took the time to come to the dining area to introduce himself to every table. He was also very polite and wanted to know how we liked the food and our experience. Another step of the cook to get out and meet the people gave our visit a personalized experience that we both enjoyed and respected. I will definitely visit again, and I have already recommended the place for a few family and friends. The restaurant is now under new management, so if you visited before Chef David started and weren't enthusiastic with your experience, I highly recommend that you give the place another chance. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new and delicious place to eat in the region Person County. Thanks for a great experience!
I eat regularly here and it can never be enough. Chef Dave (new owner) has kept most of the old favorites and took them to a notch. Last night I had the burger. It used to be an 8 ounce frozen patty that tasted okay. Now it's a 10 oz burger freshly ground. Great! I couldn't eat it all since I had a fried egg and pimiento cheese. Tonight I am back to my old Standby-A turkey and cheese sandwich with freshly made potato chips with Ranch Dressing. Yum! But if you want a meal that is more special occasions, I have tried the steaks, scallops, catfish and mahoia... all right. I usually sit at a high top in the bar area. Last night we came here late, so there was no table, so we sat at the bar. To the bar tonight. Houston (Barkeeper) is great... very personal and able to keep with customers there as well as pour all drinks for the whole restaurant. This restaurant provides a great night, no matter where you sit! Very recommended.
Above all, I love the name because I moved here from Brooklyn (even if Brookland has nothing to do with Brooklyn New York for the restaurant, I still loved it for this reason) Now for the food: Incredibly delicious food! I had the best piece of salmon that I had in a long time when ever with mixed vegetables, and some amazing appetizers including three types of deviled eggs one of my favorite things in the world! The service was so on earth and friendly and I met a wonderful waitress who is also a transplant from New York City and we are bound and will be friends now! I recommend this place with all my heart It is a wonderful family style beautiful country restaurant with a flair for incredible hospitality and food!
The food is delicious. I'm a vegetarian and there was no sandwich I could eat on the menu. I asked the waitress about a sandwich. The owner came out and asked what I had in mind. I have blown away from the quality and taste of the sandwich he created: grilled vegetables with cheese served on a delicious bread. My whole experience was great. I hope for more vegetarian option, but this visit was despite a 5-star experience.
One of the best restaurants I’ve found in North Carolina. I had the tuna steak 2 nights in a row, 2 different recipes and each night the taste got better with every bite. Awesome job guys the staff was on point too, ya all will be seeing us often!!!!!!
