Very disappointing! Cosy open fire downstairs but it was full so you have to schelp upstairs, find a table and schelp downstairs again to order. It was chilly (both upstairs and the staff’s attitude). Ordered poached eggs on toast x 2 with bacon. Easy! Square shaped sliced cheap bread, scant butter, burnt toast, 2 rock hard eggs, bacon burnt to a crisp. One very bitter flat white and one weak and willing filter coffee. Pretty awful. I definitely won’t go again.
Came here for lunch with my wife. The food was excellent as was the service. The food was well priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Yet another small business exploiting healthier lifestyles and people who are lactose intolerant. An additional 60p for oat milk in coffee is like sticking two fingers up to VEGANS.... it's offensive!
Called in on spec on a Saturday lunchtime and we were lucky enough to find a table. Other folk weren't so lucky, but were told by surly staff that they didn't know if there were any free tables and sent the prospective customers to go upstairs and look! Surely a simple CCTV camera could be used to save folk moving around an already small building only to walk out disappointed? Service was on the slower side of acceptable and the drinks (a tea and Mocha) were really good. Food was good quality, but fairly meagre portions. The ploughman's lunch cost £12 with a £2 surcharge to add ham. This ham was tasty, but was barely a slice. Overall, not bad but we'll be looking for other places to eat in Malton.
