Whether you're out with friends looking to enjoy cocktails and dance the night away to live music at the Flamingo Room (which always features fantastic bands of various genres), or you prefer a serene dinner in the garden beneath twinkling oak trees or in the cozy, intimate atmosphere of the Bistro, you can't go wrong with your choice! Although I now reside in Jacksonville, I frequently make the drive to visit my favorite place. Michael Smyth, the delightful owner of the Bistro, is always on-site to ensure everything runs smoothly. With great wine, delicious martinis, and stylishly presented, elegant dishes, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. Let's be honest, it’s St. Augustine, and there’s no need for pretense here. Plus, they accept all major credit cards!
It appears that there have been quite a few problems recently at one of my favorite restaurants in St. Augustine! I had a disagreement with the owner regarding the preparation of my filet. Many locals seem to be unhappy with both the food and the owner lately. I would suggest steering clear of this place until there is a change in ownership!
Moreover, there was no manager present; we were informed that they didn’t have one. The owner was in the kitchen and didn’t come out to address any concerns. This restaurant has been my favorite in St. Augustine for nearly a decade, but now I will need to find a new dining spot.
There are no accommodations for smokers in case of rain. A new no-smoking policy in the bar has not been communicated. If it rains and you're hoping to enjoy a smoke after dinner, you'll be left out in the rain without any apologies!
